Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) Document for the establishment of Pilot Projects involving 250 MW/500 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems in Gujarat. This initiative is part of Phase-II under Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding, and the projects will adopt the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model
The primary objective is to select Battery Energy Storage System Developers for the installation of 500 MWh (250 MW x 2 hrs) Battery Energy Storage Systems in Gujarat, specifically designed for “on-demand” usage. The competitive bidding process will play a pivotal role in identifying suitable candidates for this significant energy storage endeavor
To participate in the bidding process, interested developers are required to pay a Tender Document Fee of INR 29,500/-. Additionally, a Processing Fee of Rs. 15 Lakh + 18% GST, based on the total project capacity quoted by each bidder, is applicable. To ensure commitment, an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 7,40,000/- per MW must be submitted in the form of a Bank Guarantee
Successful bidders, selected by GUVNL through this RfS, are obligated to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) valued at INR 18,50,000/MW before entering into the Battery Energy Storage Project Agreement (BESPA)
The deadline for the submission of offline and online bids will be as per the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) on the ISN-ETS portal, and the opening of Techno-commercial bids will follow the schedule outlined in the NIT
This strategic move by GUVNL signifies a progressive step towards enhancing energy storage capabilities in Gujarat, promoting sustainable development and meeting the growing demand for reliable power supply
